In a field primarily dominated by male hip hop artists, the female emcees may sometimes seem to be lost in translation. That’s not the case for hip hop gem MedEval, whose dedication to her craft and skill set proves that she is that missing puzzle in hip hop. With much a much needed skill set, addictive drive, and unfathomed talent, MedEval is ready to take her position in hip hop.

Gary, Indiana gave us TaKisha Jefferson, better known as MedEval In the music world who found her craft in the 6th grade. At such a ripe age she had no idea at the time that a rap career was in her near future, but she continued writing as she matured. She decided to take rap seriously in 2003 when she discovered that she had a one of a kind talent. In her rap career, MedEval united with a group of peers to form a group named The Hostile Camp, but later parted ways in 2009. Now that she’s solo, she more motivated than ever, MedEval established herself as a solo artist and pushed to gain new ground in this game of hip hop.

Inspired by the likes of female artists such as Eve and Mia X, MedEval stays consistent in perfecting to mold her craft. Staying versatile, she’s learning how to appeal to different markets, groups, and music genres can relate to. There’s nothing that MedEval can’t do when it comes to attracting attention and showing that she can adapt to her surroundings, and not on just that, just be that “outside of the box” type of music artist.

Currently MedEval is working on singles, and will also be dropping a future mixtape with her artists N.W.A.C. (Nation Wide Artist Coalition). From the push of her first solo mixtape titled “At Yo Neck”, fast forwarding to now, she is currently promoting “Switching Lanes”. From this project her single “Still I Rise” is gaining much needed attention on a variety of internet based radio stations, which has led to a few interviews.

Outside of the world of music, MedEval has a lot to be proud of. One of her biggest accomplishments to date is finishing college with a degree in Business Management & Accounting. Not only is she an aspiring music artist, but she is molding herself to be a successful business woman as well. Known at TaKisha Jefferson at the time, she had to discipline herself, and she did so by making it through those tough life challenges that the military has to offer. As we all know, on the road to success come forks in the road, but even with these obstacles MedEval did not give up. She had to step back from the world of music to care for her mother who was battling cancer at the time. For the care that she provided she took a big hit mentally and financially, but for the purpose of her care it was priceless, and eventually she would move forward and continue following her dreams.

In conclusion, MedEval has a promising future as that female hip hop artist that will become a household name. MedEval gained many inspirations that jumpstarted her music career, to now becoming an inspiration to others not only musically, but from a business standpoint also. The rap game will never be the same as MedEval continues to gain attention from her current and future music. Fans will have no choice but to love and respect what she does. MedEval is not disappearing from the rap game anytime soon…and impact is promised to be made.
"With strong motivation and determination devoted to the craft of Hip-Hop, Med Eval is sure to be victorious in lyrical domination. Her rhythmic chemistry is combined with the heart and soul of real life experience, raw lyrics and club banging bets. Energized along with an explosive stage performance, I’m confident; Med Eval will be a phenomenal force in to day’s music industry." - Clay Bonner, Quickdraw Productions, LLC
